M39 hand grenade (Eihandgranate)

The Model 39 German Hand Grenade, or "Model 39 Eihandgranate" in German, was a hand grenade used by German forces during World War II. This grenade was an improved variant of its predecessor, the Model 24 Hand Grenade, and featured some significant modifications.

The Model 39 design included a metal main body with an explosive head and an ignition fuze screwed into the top. Unlike the Model 24, the Model 39 did not have a detachable wooden handle; instead, it had a handle molded directly into the body of the grenade, simplifying its manufacture and reducing costs. This handle was shorter than the Model 24 and was designed to be more ergonomic.

The ignition fuze of the Model 39 was also improved compared to that of the Model 24, with a more reliable and secure mechanism. This ensured a more consistent and precise activation of the grenade.
